Tokenization always started with a simple idea: bring real-world assets onchain.
Now, chains are competing to capture a share of the RWA boom, with some founders calling it the next “supercycle” in digital finance.
Solana is becoming a major network for tokenized equities, bringing traditional financial assets into an increasingly active onchain market. Its growth offers users and traders a glimpse into what’s next for the RWA market.
According to Solana, tokenized stock trading volume reached approximately $4.4 billion in September 2026. This figure represents trading activity over the month, rather than the total value of tokenized assets issued onchain. The distinction matters: trading volume measures market activity, while distributed asset value measures the value of assets represented onchain.
In the article below, we explore the three phases of tokenization on Solana, stats & numbers, chains building on Solana, and how tokenized assets are evolving from issuance to trading and financial utility.
Phase 1: Bringing real-world assets onchain
Solana is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain designed to make digital transactions fast, affordable, and accessible worldwide.
Its mission is to build an open, scalable, and censorship-resistant network that supports everything from payments and decentralized finance to the tokenization of real-world assets.
Here’s where the first phase begins for tokenization: asset issuance.
Financial assets that traditionally existed within brokerages, banks, and fund structures began taking digital form on public blockchains. Treasuries, money market funds, commodities, and equities could now be represented by tokens, creating new ways to hold and transfer exposure to traditional markets.
Solana offered an environment for this transition, with fast settlement, low transaction costs, and an established trading infrastructure. Over time, it’s attracted issuers bringing traditional financial products onchain, including Franklin Templeton's tokenized money market fund, alongside newer tokenized equity platforms.
Today, Solana’s RWA market has reached approximately $4.4 billion in distributed asset value, a measure of the value of real-world assets represented onchain. The network also has around 1.5 million tokenized stockholders, indicating the scale of participation in tokenized equities. These figures measure different aspects of adoption: asset value and the number of holders, respectively.

Before tokenized stocks and other real-world assets can scale, there needs to be a foundation for moving value onchain. On Solana, stablecoins are already providing much of that infrastructure.
Stablecoins provide an important liquidity and settlement layer on Solana, helping facilitate transfers and support trading across onchain markets. This infrastructure can help tokenized equities and other RWAs become more accessible and usable across DeFi.
Phase 2: From issuance to trading
The next phase was about giving tokenized assets a market, and a growing number of active builders are making that possible on Solana.
Platforms like xStocks and Ondo are expanding access to tokenized equities, while Securitize is one of the largest tokenized fund platforms on Solana, with $1.1B in assets.
BlackRock's BUIDL fund, distributed through Securitize, is the largest RWA product on Solana at $871M, and Circle's USDC represents more than $6.7B and two important parts of the wider picture: tokenized institutional assets and the dollar liquidity that helps onchain markets function.
These projects represent just a selection of the builders and institutions contributing to Solana's tokenization growth. Together, these platforms and supporting infrastructure enable tokenized assets to be traded and integrated into onchain financial markets.
It doesn’t stop there. According to the Solana Foundation Ecosystem roundup, the value of tokenized equities on Solana reached $684 million, a 47% increase over three weeks. This figure measures the value of tokenized equity assets, rather than the volume traded over that period.
Solana has also established a strong position relative to other chains in tokenized-equity trading. Its share of activity has at times exceeded 90% of onchain equity trading volume, although market share varies by period and measurement.

For context, RWA.xyz’s October 19 snapshot placed Solana’s total distributed RWA value at approximately $4.4 billion, compared with $16.9 billion on Ethereum and $6.1 billion on BNB Chain. These figures compare the value of distributed RWA assets across networks, not their trading volumes or the number of holders.
Solana may not lead every measure of tokenized asset value, but its trading activity and collaborations with institutional partners and projects show why market capitalization alone doesn't tell the full story.
Phase 3: Making tokenized assets useful
This is where the tokenized stocks move from stats on a chart to → onchain utility.
On Solana, Kamino, one of Solana’s largest lending markets, is helping bring tokenized equities into lending markets, while Jupiter, Raydium, and Orca connect these assets to trading and liquidity infrastructure.
This is where we start to see a shift taking place. In September, Solana reported that Kamino held approx. $20.7 million in xStocks collateral, around 3.6x the tokenized-equity collateral supplied to Euler and Morpho on Ethereum combined. However, not all tokenized equities are eligible for use as collateral. Their use in lending markets depends on the specific asset's terms, the protocol's eligibility requirements, and its risk parameters.
According to the Solana Foundation, that figure was around 3.6 times the tokenized-equity collateral supplied to Euler and Morpho on Ethereum combined.
OnRe is another example; they bring reinsurance onchain through ONyc, a Solana-native token backed by a regulated, segregated reinsurance account in Bermuda.
According to RWA.xyz, ONyc has reached approximately $292.5 million in distributed value, representing the value of the asset distributed onchain, alongside 9,260 holders. The first figure measures asset value; the second indicates the scale of holder participation.

Western Union is bringing stablecoin payments closer to everyday use. Its USDPT stablecoin launched on Solana in May 2026, and in August, Western Union and Rain introduced Stablecard across 37 markets. The Visa card allows users to spend USDPT in real-world transactions, extending stablecoin utility beyond onchain trading and DeFi.

Western Union brings stablecoin payments to Solana, bridging blockchain infrastructure with real-world spending.
Where supported by the asset's terms and an eligible protocol, a tokenized stock may be used as collateral or integrated into lending and liquidity strategies. Access to these uses depends on the asset's restrictions, protocol risk parameters, and market conditions. Any potential yield is strategy-dependent and is not guaranteed.
The next question: if bringing assets onchain was the first step, and making them tradable was the second, what comes next for onchain asset adoption?
What comes next?
Solana's RWA market is growing in several dimensions; wallet holders are growing, and more partnerships and products are being put to use.
The next challenge is making that activity sustainable. Tokenization volume alone doesn't guarantee long-term adoption. Assets need credible underlying backing, clear redemption mechanisms, sufficient liquidity, and risk controls that protect market participants. Issuer structures, custody arrangements, regulatory requirements, and protocol safeguards all influence whether tokenized assets can function reliably over time.
Solana's tokenization market is progressing through three stages: bringing assets onchain, enabling them to be traded, and integrating them into financial applications. How far these use cases develop will depend on market demand and whether the underlying assets and supporting infrastructure can meet the requirements of each use case.
The next RWA race won't just be about who tokenizes the most assets. It will be about who gives those assets the most reasons to be used.
